During autumn of 2024, I had an internship with a communication agency that specialises in helping organisations succeed with internal digital transformation. Their focus is on making change not only possible, but effective—especially when companies are adopting new digital work methods or looking to improve the tools they already use.
They bring together a wide range of expertise, with teams that span content production, design and UX, performance marketing, web development, and digital strategy. Their creatives include copywriters, film producers, designers, illustrators, and animators—while their tech and marketing teams cover everything from SEO and automation to full stack development and AI strategy.
The agency’s previous website had not been updated in a while and looked a bit outdated, hindering their lead generation for design and illustration clients, who might judge services by company’s own website and digital representation. Moreover, the agency’s branding and style needed a refresh as well, representing their expertise more clearly.
The process started with research that guided further ideation and solutions for this project. The research included discussions within the agency about their goals for the website, extensive market and competitor analysis, as well as interviews with possible clients to get a deeper understanding of their needs and pain points.
After reviewing the research findings and defining the agency’s goals, we moved to creating their new visual identity. After an ideation workshop, we decided to create a new design system with a change of fonts, a more broad color palette that combines existing brand colors with some new ones. We also decided to change the images and visual components used to represent the brand, which is closely tied to mountains. This was represented by using graphic elements representing topographic lines and colorful slopes, giving a more playful and subtle approach to the mountain theme.
Moving on to the website design, I started exploring different ideas by making mockups. This let me present a variety of ideas and directions to the stakeholders and come to the final design.
After we decided on a clear direction for the website’s layout and look, I worked to build it using Wordpress and Elementor no code environment, making the website that would be easy to maintain for anyone at the agency.
